The Experience

An itinerary that offers a combination of golf and local discovery activities, allowing participants to fully enjoy the scenic beauty, culture and gastronomy of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Day 1: Aquileia and Grado

Itinerary: Car collection or meeting with driver at the airport (Venice or Trieste) or other locations.
Arrival in Aquileia and meeting with the guide; visit to the Archaeological Museum and the Basilica OR archaeological walk (decumanus, forum, river port, domus of Tito Macro) and Basilica. Tasting lunch at the winery.
In the afternoon transfer to Grado and free time to explore the village or relax at the Golf Club.
Dinner in the center or at the Club.

Day 2: Grado and Lignano, a stone's throw from the sea

Itinerary:  Morning dedicated to golf. Check out and time available to visit Grado: visit to the historic centre, castrum gradense, Basilica of S. Eufemia and S. Maria delle Grazie, visit to the Museum of fishing and lagoon civilisation. Lunch in a restaurant in Grado. After lunch, private transfer (or car rental) towards Lignano.

The Grado Golf club: Surrounded by the magical setting of the lagoon, a stone's throw from the nature reserve, there is a green that fears no comparison. Designed in the 1990s by the famous Venetian architect Marco Croze, the 18-hole Grado Golf Club course is one of the most beautiful greens in Italy, in all seasons. Favored by the climate and kissed by the Adriatic sun, the golf course is a paradise for lovers of lawn games. Extraordinarily varied fairways and the Driving Range leaves nothing to be desired. If for Mark Twain "golf is the best way to ruin a good walk", on our green your game will be pure pleasure.

Day 3: Lignano and among vineyards and castles

Itinerary: Morning dedicated to golf. check out and time available for a walk in Lignano and lunch. After lunch, departure for the Collio Friulano, arrival at Spessa Castle and check in.
Aperitif with wine tasting and dinner at the Castle.
Overnight in the Castle.

The club in Lignano: The par 72 course designed by the well-known architect Marco Croze extends over an area of 70 hectares of extremely well-kept greenery capable of exciting at every technical level of play. The course is striking for the presence of long fairways, large greens and vast areas of natural sand, the 18 holes fit perfectly between the bodies of water and the lush vegetation of the pine forest and give life to a varied and exciting game. The Lignano Golf Club is also home to international competitions including: the Women's Italian Open in 1993 and 1994, The PGA's Champions Trophy of Europe in 2008 and the Alps Tour Servizitalia Open in 2012 and 2015

Day 4: The sweet hills, Collio friulano

Itinerary: Morning dedicated to golf. Check out and transfer to Udine and lunch in a restaurant with typical Friulian specialties. After lunch, meeting with the guide and guided tour of the city of Udine.

In the evening, transfer to Fagagna, check in at the Golf Club and relax in the resort swimming pool or in the SPA.
Dinner and overnight stay in the golf resort.

The Golf Club in the hills: Immersed in the greenery of the Collio Goriziano, the 18-hole course of the Castello di Spessa Golf & Country Club winds through gentle ups and downs dotted with vineyards and olive trees, while the pools and fountains, combined with the rich vegetation , give the field an ancient charm.

Day 5: San Daniele and ham tasting

Itinerary: Morning dedicated to golf. Transfer to San Daniele and lunch with San Daniele ham tasting. Guided tour of the town of San Daniele: Piazza Vittorio Emanuele (Duomo), Church of S. Maria della Fratta, Church of S. Antonio Abate (small Sistine Chapel of Friuli). At the end of the visit, departure towards the next destination!

The Fagagna Club: The 18 holes, harmoniously integrated into the 63 hectares of course, were designed by architects John Harris and Marco Croze. Since the summer of 2013 they have been subject to important changes, by the agronomist Fulvio Bani, in order to make the golf course a context where international competitions can be played, such as the European Senior Tour, held at the end of October 2016.
